The Forum on Sustainable Development was held in Baku.

The Baku Forum on "Strengthening Regional Partnership in the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals" has started its work in Baku on October 25.

The event, organized jointly by the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Economy and the United Nations Country Office, involves high-level representatives from Europe and CIS, ombudsmen, UN, international financial institutions, civil society and the private sector.

Initially, a video clip was demonstrated on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the National Coordination Council for Sustainable Development Ali Ahmadov said that the 6th Humanitarian Baku Forum was held in Baku today with participation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and high-ranking officials from a number of countries. It was noted that holding these prestigious events in Baku is a sign of Azerbaijan's attention to this sphere. Sharing his views on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and his work on achieving Azerbaijan's DIMs, Ali Ahmadov noted that Azerbaijan established a National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, coordinated the activities of all the organizations within the Council, adapted Azerbaijan's development priorities to DIM and state programs implemented in our country and DIMs in other sectors. It was noted that over the past years poverty in Azerbaijan has dropped significantly, over 2 million new jobs have been created over the past 15 years, and in accordance with the socio-economic development, the capital of Baku and the country has completely changed.
