Thematic Seminar on Sustainable Development Goals Indicators was held in the State Statistical Committee.

Within the framework of the State Committee on Statistics of Azerbaijan Republic on September 26, the seminar was launched in cooperation with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) within the framework of the project "Strengthening Government Capacity for Quality Data Development to Monitor Sustainable Development Goals".

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Committee on Family, Women and Children Affairs, and the Institute of Genetic Resources of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences are also attending the seminar.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Rauf Salimov, Deputy Chairman of the State Statistical Committee, said that the "Transformation of our world: the day-to-day development in the field of sustainable development" aims to achieve high quality information required for national, regional and global monitoring of progress on targets and targets. the Global Indicators System approved at the 48th Session of the UN Statistical Commission in terms of provision of this information is of great importance. At the same time, it is a very serious challenge for statistical information manufacturers in terms of new tasks. Resources should be mobilized and efforts should be coordinated to strengthen the statistical capacity to improve the quantitative and qualitative data on these indicators in line with the global agenda. This is a highlight of international experience sharing and evaluation of initiatives. This seminar, which is supported by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization in terms of studying and applying advanced experience in the field of Monitoring DME achievement, is of great importance.
